Civic Trust Awards – Winner
It’s an honour to reveal that Saltholme Pools Hide, our retrofit project for the RSPB in Teesside, has been named as highly recommended winner of the Civic Trust Awards 2020.
One of the most prestigious architectural awards to receive, the project was awarded following a rigorous judging process, crediting the building’s transformation from a dilapidated bird hide at the Saltholme Reserve into a genuine community asset.
Confirming the selection for Saltholme Pools Hide as a winner of the awards, the judges commented: “A modest delight of a building. Community benefits are very significant and hugely important in any context, but even more so in one of the more deprived parts of the country.”
