Tower Court — Civic Trust Awards 2025 Success
On the back of winning the Overall Winner in the New London Awards 2024 we are delighted to have the scheme recognised with a Civic Trust Award, and their Special Award for Community Impact & Engagement.
The highly complex scheme is a collaboration between London Borough of Hackney, Countryside Partnerships, Adam Khan Architects, MUF ARCHITECTURE / ART LLP and Child Graddon Lewis, as well as a dedicated wider design team including Engagement Consultant Daisy Froud and Tibbalds Planning. Tower Court provides 132 mixed-tenure homes including a large proportion of family homes, a community ambulance station and a comprehensive public realm strategy; carefully considered around the existing mature trees, designed with the intention to encourage social interaction and enable play. The residents’ and wider community’s needs are at the heart of the regeneration project; providing a scheme with positive social impact, carefully integrated with the existing context.
Tower Court serves as an exemplar project in how estate regeneration can work to provide existing residents a Right To Return, improved public realm for existing communities and also to provide much needed new homes. This local authority led scheme highlights how a contemporary approach to delivering new affordable housing can also deliver wider community benefits and high-quality architectural design.
The Child Graddon Lewis team worked on the delivery stages to ensure the completion of this successful design led scheme. You can read more about the Civic Trust Awards win here: https://lnkd.in/e7-upnYZ
