David’s Bridal Birmingham shortlisted for two Retail Week Interior Awards
26.07.2017
Child Graddon Lewis is delighted to announce that its design for the new David’s Bridal store in Birmingham City Centre has been recognised by the highly prestigious Retail Week Interior Awards. Having formed a partnership with retail fit-out company, Triton Contracts, the space has been shortlisted for not one, but two accolades; NAS Shopfitting Excellence and Best Fashion Interior.
Completed in late 2016, the new branch of David’s Bridal is the latest in a number of major new stores opening within Birmingham’s city centre.
This 15,000 sq. ft. store occupies the site of the former Plaza shopping centre in Canon Street, central Birmingham. The space has been completely transformed, creating a smart contemporary destination store that offers a full range of bridal and occasion dresses. The new store carries the full David’s Bridal collection of dresses and includes a number of exclusive designer ranges from Vera Wang, Jenny Packham and Zac Posen, as well as an extensive range of accessories and shoes. There are 40 dressing rooms within dedicated presentation areas for Bridal and Occasion dresses. There is also a dedicated Alterations Studio and workroom.
Building and fit out service provider, Triton Contracts, worked closely with CGL and the client team, based in Philadelphia, USA, to ensure the project ran smoothly through to completion on what was a challenging timetable to meet the clients opening date.
Works included full M&E installation, partitions, ceilings, joinery, mobile stock racking system, minor structural works raising two areas of floor and floor and wall finishes. Triton also provided logistics and co-ordination of a large amount of equipment that was shipped from the USA.
Running for 20 years, the Retail Week Interior Awards aim to celebrate the best in the retail store design and fit-out sector. Winners will be announced at a ceremony during the Retail Week Interiors summit in November 2017.
